Painted Cowgirl Chic

A few months ago I tried a little project and painted an old pair of cowgirl boots! They were for a Breast Cancer Awareness luncheon I went to in September 2011. Several ladies commissioned me from the luncheon to paint on their boots and I did so, with the proceeds going to breast cancer. I even had one lady who offered to buy my boots right off my feet that day... LOL!!

Nonetheless the boots turned out super cute, and I often wear them out to the Horses for Healing ranch where they have been a HUGE hit!!

To see the original blog post you can look HERE.

In the meantime I have had several "chic cowgirls" email me and asking if they sent me their boots if I would paint on them AND YES-- I will and I do. You can send me your new or used cowgirl boots and I will paint flowers and roses, etc in your color choice. The boots are then sealed with a varnish, and as far as I can tell they hold up pretty well. (turn around time depends on my schedule, but I can give you a pretty good idea when you email me). I have noticed that my own boots (and I wear them a lot and have even worn in the rain at the stables) that they have peeled and cracked especially where your toes bend but for the most part they look great and personally I like the old "chippy" look so it doesn't bother me.

Just recently (pictures in this post) I painted on beautiful Madden Girl Boots that are not leather but of nice quality so I am not sure exactly how well they will hold up because the leather does absorb the paint. I took the time to seal them a few extra times and I hope Gina will keep me updated on how they wear.

The price is $35 in addition to the shipping and handling. If you are breast cancer survivor or having them paint for a survivor the painting cost is waived or the fee donated to breast cancer awareness. If you are a volunteer, like I am, at Horses for Healing, the fee is also waived or you can make a donation to the foundation.

For the rest of you pretty chic cowgirls, please email me and with a small fee and shipping and handling you, too, can be a painted pony!

Thanks for looking, and I hope you enjoyed the pictures of these Cowgirl Chic Painted boots!
