Friday, my friend, Amy won tickets to Peel Mansion Artfest concert and I was her date!! tee hee hee...
About 2 hours prior I decided that I wanted to go with a prarie chic feel (ok more like costume! LOL)!!
So I whipped this up from scratch... and really, couldn't believe I did it and it worked out!
It has a tutu feel to it, too! It's like the prarie meets ballerina while riding a horse (the cowboy boots!) LOL!!
It has all raw edges-- mostly tea stained muslin. But then on a whim I added some lace and then this gorgeous fabric from a prom gown that my friend Stacie bought and ripped up and then shared with me! (thanks, Stacie!)
I thought it turned out pretty good... especially for last minute... and it only took 2 hours...
The flower is a Cassandra orginal... that I keep pinning to my hats, to bags, to t-shirts and now... "the skirt"!!
In the end, I thought I looked cute! It isn't often I get out on a Friday night after dark!! (I think the p90x might be kicking in, too)
I've been super inspired in the sewing department lately... and the week before made this for my secret sister (who is technically no longer a secret!!)

The strap was my FAVORITE part... I love how it turned out! I've decided burlap is awesome!

And certainly not least... but last in this post at least...
I had a wonderful visit with my gal pal and flight attendant friend, Stacie. Here we are: (Im the one on the right)
A close up of me:
A close up of Stacie: (what a shape!!)
LOL! Ironically, John's nickname for me is Cupcake!
She and her sweet boy, Kaden, came out for several days last week. The kids had a great time!!
Whew! That's alot in the day of the life of a ruffles, burlap and wine addict!!
Check back!
